Ethos Engineering’s European Network First Q Combined Turnover Will Reach €300M This Year
Ethos Engineering’s Managing Director Greg Hayden is the treasurer of First Q network which consists of 11 mechanical & electrical consultancy’s in 11 different European countries which together have in excess of 2850 engineers, set up to share best practice, knowledge and expertise across boarders.
First Q Network celebrated its general assembly meeting last 14th and 15th of May in Smits van Burgst offices in Zoetermeer (Holland).
The most relevant issue of the meeting was the incorporation of a new member, the Swiss consulting engineering company Waldhauser + Hermann. With headquarters in Münchenstein, the company run by Marco Waldhauser was established in 1973, employs 55 people and works with the most relevant architects and developers in Switzerland.
The general situation of the different companies was reviewed. Combined turnover went up from 265 M€ in 2017 to 280 M€ in 2018, and it is expected to rise up to 300 M€ in this year 2019. Combined workforce will be 2.850 people this year, up from 2.700 in 2018. Members are optimistic about workload for the next year, and they have difficulties in finding engineers for their companies.
The activities of the different technical groups were also discussed, being the smart buildings group the most active of them. There was also time for a specific topic discussion. This time the topic was “outsourcing”, as this is a strategy that should be used to cover specific areas of expertise or excess workload periods, trying to guarantee maximum quality of service to our clients.
The next meeting will take place in six months’ time in Italy.
