Project Description

The new Tallaght Satellite Centre is located on the grounds of the Tallaght Adelaide and Meath Hospital campus.

The Satellite Centre is part of the new National Children’s Hospital (NCH) development encompassing the new hospital at St. James’ Hospital and another Satellite Centre located at Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown.

The Tallaght Satellite Centre is a three-story building measuring approximately 4800m². It will also contain a proportion of refurbishment works on the ground floor of the existing Tallaght Hospital where the current administration areas will be transferred to the National Children’s Hospital.

Ethos Input

The Satellite Centre will be a fully serviced hospital designed and built to the latest standards and good practices. The mechanical and electrical services will include all ventilation, heating, cooling, water services, drainage, medical gas, pneumatic tube, power, lighting, nurse call, security, fire protection, and telecommunications. This is a BIM project, and as such, all the services are being designed and coordinated in REVIT.

Unique / Key Features

This is an A3 energy-rated building and will make use of all the latest technologies for efficient design, heat recovery, and energy reduction. The current design included high-efficiency reversible heat pumps, multi-service chilled beams, and LED lighting throughout.
