Since its establishment in 2005 Ethos Engineering has been involved in a wide variety of projects. Our experience spans the entire spectrum of project types from commercial to residential and healthcare to pharmaceutical just to name a few. We pride ourselves on the quality and level of service we provide to all Clients and this has proven to be key in building the company to being a respected and trusted name in the industry over a relatively short period of time. This is evident through the quantity of repeat work with high profile Clients and also through the quality and quantity of projects in our portfolio.

Interxion DUB2 & DUB3

Ethos Engineering recently completed phases 1, 2 & 3 of Interxion’s Data Centre  facility in Parkwest in February 2010, September 2010 and January 2011 respectively. The Interxion Dub2 facility is a 2000m² of processing space which has been maximised by placing the incoming utilities, switchrooms, plantrooms and generators external to the building.

The mechanical & Electrical systems have been designed to allow the roll out of the  facility in a phased manner without any disruption to installed services.  The mechanical and electrical systems were designed to maximise energy efficiency and  the overall PUE for the facility. The DUB2 facility offers redundant 4MVA grid connection,  2N UPS power and N+1 intelligent free cooling, as well as advanced alarm and  monitoring systems.

We are currently providing design services for a new 8MW facility (DUB3 ) for Interxion on a greenfield site in west Dublin and this is due for completion in 2017.

This project involved the  construction of a new data centre at Ballycoolin Dublin 15.  The facility when complete will consist of 10,000m² of processing space which has been maximised by placing the the primary electrical plant external to the builing.

The mechanical and electrical systems have been designed to maximise energy efficiency and the overall PUE for the facility. The target PUE for the facility is 1.2 The  facility offers redundant 8MVA grid connection, 2N UPS power as well as advanced  alarm and monitoring systems.

The data-halls will be cooled by free cooling air handling equipment located in the  mezzanine level plantroom above the MV & LV Switchrooms. The system design utilises fresh air free cooling in order to cool the data-hall air via an air to air heat exchanger. During high external ambient temperatures, the system will be assisted  by an evaporative cooling array.

EdgeConnex are currently developing an 18MW Data Centre facility in West Dublin and Ethos are providing electrical design services on the project. This is one of a number of projects we are delivering for this client. We have provided master planning services to include a 110kV substation and a temporary containerised generator solution to allow occupation of the facility prior to completion of the grid connection whilst still achieving the required electrical availability.

One of the key feature of the building is the use of fully prefabricated pods which were manufactured off site and positioned externally to the building to facilitate an accelerated construction programme. The execution and co-ordination of this from concept through to delivery is key to the successful delivery of the project.

 

The cooling was achieved by an highly efficient DX cooling technology, utilising evaporative cooling to cool the server spaces.  The project also involved infrastructure extension and resilience, in relation to site MV supplies and connection to other telecoms infrastructure.

Ethos Engineering have provided and continue to provide MEP design and Commissioning support services for a large multinational on their Data Centre Campus in Dublin and on a similar facility in the Netherlands.  The construction has been on a phased basis over a number of years.

We have completed design of the facility to provide 160MW of critical IT capacity with based on a 99.999% availability.  The cooling is achieved by an all air cooling system, utilising air side economisers (outside air) to cool the server and electrical spaces. Some areas (MDF Rooms) had additional DX Cooling provided. The telecoms network is also highly resilient and drove the requirement to develop the site in pairs of buildings.

Ethos have also provided design services on the critical infrastructure that underpins this development this is includes the development of a 11okV substation and a the resilient telecoms and water networks that are essential to the running of such a facility. Our continued delivery has ensure we have been retained for numerous phases of this development and allowed us to develop the design as our clients needs evolve.

EdgeConnex are currently developing an 60MW Data Centre facility in the Schiphol are of Amsterdam and Ethos are providing electrical design services on the project. This is one of a number of projects we are delivering for this client

The cooling was achieved by an highly efficient indirect air  cooling technology, utilising evaporative cooling to cool the server spaces. The project is design to achieve the stringent PUE target of 1.2 set by the local municipality.  The project also involved infrastructure extension and resilience, in relation to site MV supplies and connection to other telecoms infrastructure.
