Applying 'smart' appropriately
Ethos Engineering provides mechanical and electrical consultancy services to the data centre, residential, commercial, micro-electronic, healthcare, municipal, hi-tech, pharmaceutical, and sports & leisure sectors.
Our design professionals have over 500 years combined experience with expertise ranging across all the specialist areas. We utilise the latest in design software tools in which our staff are fully trained and versed in.
The Ethos Engineering environment allows our talented staff to approach projects with originality, creativity, common sense and enthusiasm. While conscious of benchmark projects, new projects are approached by Ethos professionals as a unique occasion to create an original solution that matches functionality, quality and cost to obtain the best value solution.
At Ethos Engineering we have specialist engineers with extensive experience in sustainable and environmental design solutions.
We have an excellent record in the design of sustainable concepts across all sectors of the building industry and utilise the latest building simulation software to assist in this regard. Ethos Engineering also have fully trained and accredited BREEAM, LEED and Building Energy Rating (BER) Assessors as well as experienced energy auditors.
At Ethos Engineering we utilise the most advanced software tools available to use to carry out building simulations and analysis. We utilise the latest technologies to develop Dynamic Thermal Simulations to determine design strategies to ensure buildings and systems to meet our clients needs whilst achieving our goals of delivering sustainable solutions across the built environment.
BREEAM provides clients, developers, designers and others with market recognition for low environmental impact buildings
and assurance that best environmental practice is incorporated into a building. It also drives inspiration to find innovative solutions that minimise the environmental impact; a benchmark that is higher than regulation; a tool to help reduce running costs;improve working and living environments; a standard that demonstrates progress towards corporate and organisational environmental objectives
Ethos Engineering have qualified BREEAM Assessors and can provide you with up-front advice should wish to investigate the possibility of utilising BREEAM on your project.
LEED is an internationally recognised green building certification system, providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.
Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED provides building owners and operators a concise framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions.
LEED is flexible enough to apply to all building types – commercial as well as residential. It works throughout the building lifecycle – design and construction, operations and maintenance, tenant fit-out, and significant retrofit. Also LEED for Neighborhood Development extends the benefits of LEED beyond the building footprint into the neighborhood it serves.
WELL Certified™ spaces are designed to improve the nutrition, fitness, mood, sleep patterns, productivity and performance of the people working, living, shopping or playing inside of them. By placing people at the heart of design, construction, operations and development decisions, WELL can add value to real estate assets, generate savings in personnel costs and enhance human health, well-being and experience.
Ethos have a qualified WELL AP, and were the third registered WELL AP in Ireland.
BUILDING INFORMATION MODELLING (BIM)
As one of the early adopters of BIM processes & technologies we now work in an environment that performs far more efficiently and delivers more valuable information to our clients. The use of BIM is vital in facilitating highly coordinated, collaborative, information rich designs in an ever-progressing AEC industry. This integrated project delivery approach is at the forefront of what we do, as we aim for all project stakeholders to utilise the same BIM information throughout the Design, Build and Operation lifecycle of a project.
