Project Description
As part of the government strategy to develop centres of excellence for cancer treatment, the National Programme for Radiation Oncology (NPRO) chose a number of sites throughout Ireland to deliver the Radiation & Oncology Centres (ROCs). As part of this phase, Cork University Hospital and University Hospital Galway were chosen. The development in Cork consisted of a 3 story building located on the live campus with extensive site tie-ins to site infrastructure and overall campus infrastructure. The overall project value was €40m and delivered on time and under budget.

Ethos Engineering were the Employers designers with full design responsibility for the mechanical and electrical, ICT and Lift services installations.

The new 8,800 sq.m, three-stories over basement hospital facility includes the following features;
•5 Linear Accelerator Treatment Rooms and associated control rooms
•2 CT Simulator Suites
•A HDR Operating Theatre
•Brachytherapy suite
•Outpatient department
•Consultants clinics and associated administration rooms
